Meet The Team

Robert BJ Isom
Chief Executive Officer
BJ is a full-time firefighter/paramedic in Central Florida with 23 yrs experience. He is a devoted Christ follower, husband, father of 5, grandfather, and servant to his fellow neighbors. He fully understands the mental and physical stressors of the first response career fields and has adopted as a personal mission, to provide opportunities for veterans, first responders, and other heroes to get away and experience the therapeutic benefits of adventure and the great outdoors. His end goal is to be a positive influence and example of how to process a career of images and experiences to reduce the suicide rates in these fields.

Jimmie Butler
Program Director
Jimmie Butler leads the ECO Therapy Program at Healing Hometown Heroes Inc., bringing a deep passion for connecting mental health with the restorative power of nature. Originally from Ocala, Florida, Jimmie’s journey as a former firefighter in North Carolina shaped his commitment to raising awareness about first responder trauma. Witnessing the devastating toll of firefighter suicides and the lack of community understanding inspired him to drive impactful change through education and healing programs.
With a talent for motivation, logistics, and program management, Jimmie excels at helping people see their potential and uncover paths to healing they might not have recognized. Outside of work, you’ll find Jimmie hiking, weightlifting, biking, or exploring vintage shops in search of hidden treasures to add to his collection of ball caps. Through his role, he strives to help others connect with nature, overcome challenges, and find balance in both mind and spirit.

Felicia Commander
Program Director
Felicia serves as the Program Director for the Women Outdoors Program at Healing Hometown Heroes Inc. Known for her nurturing "mama bear" spirit, Felicia fosters strong relationships that amplify her contributions to the program and its mission. When she’s not working, she channels her creativity into hydro-dipped art, custom mugs, and accessories, or enjoys fishing and soaking in the healing powers of nature.
